Product Description
Product overview
The Birchmeier DR 5 is a portable, manually pressurised powder duster for applying suitable dry powders around buildings, gardens and agricultural premises. A hand pump builds pressure in the transparent tank, while a separate air connection allows an appropriate compressed-air supply to be used in accordance with the operating instructions.
- Filling capacity5 litres
- Pressure tank8 litres total volume
- Current maximum pressure4 bar
- Manual operationIntegrated hand pump
- Air connectionCompressed-air valve
- Portable equipmentCarrying belt
Designed for powder application
The reinforced hose resists kinking to help maintain powder flow. A hand-operated trigger and brass powder tube provide controlled delivery, and the carrying belt supports portable use.
Standard equipment
The DR 5 uses a manual pump, pressure-relief valve, compressed-air connection, hose, trigger, brass powder tube and carrying belt. Accessories and any battery-compressor option are supplied separately unless expressly included in an Agralan kit.
Applications
Birchmeier lists rock meal, diatomaceous earth, algae lime powder and primitive rock dust as suitable applications. The suitability, permitted use and required protection depend on the powder being applied. Follow its label and safety information, together with the DR 5 instructions.

Using and maintaining your DR 5
Read the operating manual and enclosed safety instructions before first use. Birchmeier’s filling demonstration advises filling the tank approximately one-third with powder and shaking continuously while dusting. Actual powder weight depends on the material; a litre capacity is not a universal kilogram rating.
- Assemble the hose, trigger and powder tube and attach the carrying belt as shown in the manual.
- Use a suitable dry powder, keep the sealing surfaces clean and leave the required air space.
- Pressurise using the hand pump or an appropriate regulated air supply, following the manual and the pressure marked on your own unit.
- Operate the trigger to apply powder and keep it moving by shaking as instructed.
- Release pressure before opening or servicing. Check and clean the tank, seals, trigger, powder tube and relief valve regularly. The current manual specifies that oil must not be used.
Check your equipment version: Birchmeier identifies 3-bar relief valves on units up to 2021 and 4-bar valves from 2022. Do not exceed the rating marked on your unit or fit a different-rated valve as a pressure upgrade.
